comes from a musical tradition tracing back to the old world shtetl of Szrensk. Incorporating post-immigrant sounds rooted in klezmer, Saul Goodman's music moves the spirit and the dance. It's always a simcha with Saul!
We perform klezmer music for weddings, bar and bat mitzvah parties, and all manner of concerts and celebrations around the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. Our sound draws from our modern cosmopolitan surroundings while being firmly rooted in traditional Jewish folk music tracing centuries back from Eastern Europe. Our music brings people together and lifts their spirits and energies. We perform for young and old, for dance parties, cocktail hours, ceremonies, and processions. We are versatile and flexible, and strive to keep it "all good man" where ever we perform. |
We love to perform acoustically, but can also amplify if needed. The full band includes clarinet, violin, mandolin, accordion, bass, and drum. We can also bring in xylophone, puppets, brass and other instruments. Our band members bring a wealth of other experience and skills that can be incorporated such as children's music, original composition, and a breadth of stylistic musical diversity.
For dance parties, we often work with a dance leader who helps facilitate participation on the dance floor through fun, charismatic, and easily follow-able cues. We are dedicated to keeping these folk traditions alive and vibrant, and using them in the service of culture and celebration. |
